When your children ask you what they can see in space. You will answer them by saying, there are stars, planets, and Elon Musk‘s personal Tesla roadster.

SpaceX‘s Falcon Heavy, the most powerful rocket in the world, made its inaugural launch from Florida four years ago carrying only a Tesla Roadster into outer space.

The vehicle is swimming lonely in the space around the sun. Swaying in its cherry red color carrying a spacesuit-clad mannequin nicknamed “Starman”.

Why Tesla Roadster in space?

No, they didn’t launch it for some scientific experiments. The real reason is that SpaceX needed a dummy payload for a test launch, so Elon Musk said that he will pick the “[s]illiest thing we can imagine.”
And that is how his Tesla Roadster flows there.

According to whereisroadster.com, which is a tracking website that uses NASA’s data to keep tabs on the car, the luxurious car was about 234 million miles from Earth and about 200 million miles from Mars.

Since the launching day, Tesla Roadster traveled through a barren, empty vacuum, nearly 2 billion miles, and completed about 2.6 loops around the sun.

The first close to other celestial objects was in 2020. When it got near Mars, it wasn’t that near. The distance was like 5 million miles of the planet. Or to make it clearer it is about four times the distance between the moon and the Earth. The next passing near another planet will likely be in 2035.

There is a 22% chance that the flying Roadster may collide with the Earth. But no need to be scared because that will happen in the next 15 million years.

In 2018, SpaceX founder said that he wishes that humans will establish their settlements on other planets, and his “descendants will be able to drag [the roadster] back to a museum.”
