In the past, when we wanted to skip a test we pretended to be sick. But now at the TikTok age, everything changed. A teacher’s TikTok promise just went viral.
Last week, at Lebanon Junior High School, some students could get rid of one of their final tests. All thanks for TikTok app. The teacher’s TikTok promise stated that he will cancel the final exam if a pro sports team comments.
Josh Chasteen, who is a health teacher in LJHS, posted a video on his TikTok account on Tuesday saying, “I told my students I’ll cancel our last test if a pro sports team comments.”
Surprisingly, the video got 46.7 million views, 7.6 million likes, and more than 140,000 comments, on Saturday. The comments included almost every professional sports team on TikTok.

“I was confident at least one pro team would comment,” Josh said.
Chasteen’s students made him the TikTok account in the fall of 2019 during lunch periods. Now, his account has over 249,000 followers.
According to Chasteen, the main reason for his viral TikTok was to give a break for students during the stressful week.
“I think most students are proud to have a TikTok famous teacher. One student has even bought me a shirt that says ‘TikTok Famous,’ on it.” He said
It wasn’t Chasteen’s first time, he posted a similar TikTok video last year. He said that he would also cancel a test if the Cincinnati Bengals commented on his video. For students’ luck, the Bengals did reply to the video.
