Nowadays, participation in sports is declining in America especially among females despite the well-known young players who shone around the world and reached splendid success. And, among these young female athletes, Brighton Zeuner comes as the youngest athlete.  

In the Olympic Games of 1900, women made their first appearance in some sports like tennis, croquet, horse riding, sailing, and golf. In general, women like to play equestrian but it may be the most expensive and riskiest sport ever due to its multiple competitive sports including show jumping, endurance, vaulting riding, reining, dressage, horse racing, rodeo, tent pegging, polo,  and driving.

Who are these young female athletes?

1. Brighton Zeuner

“Brighton Zeuner”, the youngest gold medalist skater in X Games Minneapolis at the age of 13. The American needed to be strong enough to win the Women’s Skateboard Park twice because actually those debuts were really tough and required her to be skillful in high-flying, twisting tricks, and attaining proper movements over obstacles. She even managed to become the fourth in the world ranking and lead a new wave of female skaters. Also, she is known as the youngest among young female athletes.

2. Regan Smith

Another American eye-catching athlete and extraordinary swimmer is “Regan Smith”, who was able to win gold medals and break two world records in the 2017 FINA World Junior Championship of 100 and 200-meter backstroke contests events at an early age (17 years old).

She even won a bronze medal in the 200-meter backstroke at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, held in Tokyo in 2018. Smith gained another gold medal in Gwangju, South Korea at the individual 2019 World Aquatics Championships after winning her first World Championship title in 200-meter backstroke competition.

She was named the 2019 American Swimmer of the year and World Swimmer of the year for her remarkable achievements in 2019 particularly.

3. Carissa Moore

Water surfing also witnessed two American famous top players as the world’s No.1 “Carissa Moore”, who was the youngest champion at a Triple Crown of Surfing event to win the 2008 Reef Hawaiian Pro at the age of 16. She is well known for her dominant performances which lead her to be 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2019 ASP Women’s World Tour Champion.

4. Caroline Marks

The other top surfer is “Caroline Marks”, who was the youngest female to participate in the competition of World Surf League and also the youngest surfer to qualify for the women’s Championship Tour. One of Caroline’s remarkable achievements was becoming Surfing America Champion 6 times.

She even clinched three third-place finishes in 10 events of the 2018 season and ranked world no.7. After a few months, Marks managed to proceed to be world No.2 after achieving two powerful wins on the world-class Championship Tour. At those times, she was only 17 and named the Rookie of the Year for imposing an aggressive style of water surfing.

Soccer(American football) is another popular sport for Americans, and here we have many stars.

5. Alex Morgan

“Alex Morgan”, a successful soccer player, was born in 1989. At the semifinals of the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the match-winning goal against Canada. She was able to become the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one single season. So, she was named the U.S.

Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. In 2013, Morgan joined Portland Thorns FC and played a big role in helping the team win The League Title. She also appeared alongside Lionel Messi on covers of FIFA 16 sold editions in the U.S. Alex in the National Team managed to win titles such as 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups. She even won the Silver Boot in 2019.

6. Rose Lavelle

Besides, we have “Rose Lavelle” as a professional American female soccer player, who was capped with the Bronze Ball as the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup third-best player. She was named the sixth-best player in the world at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019 and the 2019 FIFA FIFPro World XI too. Also, she is one of the most well-known young female athletes.

7. Dalilah Muhammad

In addition, we have the brilliant Dalilah Muhammad, the great track and field hurdler, who was born in 1990. She won the gold medal at the 2019 World Championships and the silver at the 2013 and 2017 World Championships in the 400 meters hurdles. She’s the first performer in history and the second female to win the Olympic and World titles and break the world record with a time of 52.16 seconds.

8. Sydney McLaughlin

One of the best hurdlers too is “Sydney McLaughlin”(born in 1999). She is an American hurdler and sprinter. Furthermore, she won the silver medal of the 400 m hurdles at the 2019 World Championships and gained the second Performer in history only behind Dalilah Muhammad who won the race.

McLaughlin has previously won the Gatorade National Girls Athlete of the Year trophy for consecutive two years (from 2015–16 to 2016–17). She also took third place in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2016 United States Olympic Trials, and qualified to take part in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

9. Simone Biles

For the American gymnastic sports, “Simone Biles”, 24, is the most famous, dominant and elite-level, gymnast, who has won four Olympic gold medals, and the like most decorated gymnast trophy in World Championship history. So, Four elements (movements) have been named “the Biles” after Simone in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Code of Points.

She is famous for her combining of difficulty, proficiency, and skillfulness in her performance. That’s why she would have high scores though making some faults occasionally.

According to Cheryl Hamilton (The Olympic Vault Judge): “Simone has the perfect balance between difficulty and execution. So that her scores are up there on the podium competition after competition. Also, if anyone even started to come close to her, she’d come up with something else. The sky’s the limit for the GOAT”.

10. Cori Gauff

In tennis, the enjoyable sport among American females, we would like to mention “Cori Gauff”. She is a teenage tennis player, who clinched her first WTA singles title at the 2019 Linz Open. She won it when she was only 15. Also, she is one of the most sportive young female athletes. This big win made her the youngest American woman to win a singles title since 1991, and even the youngest singles title-holder on the WTA Tour since 2004.

She also managed to beat the tennis superstar, former world no.1, and the five-time Wimbledon champion “Venus Williams” and shock worldwide spectators in the opening round at Wimbledon in 2019. Later, she revealed that her compatriot (Venus Williams) is one of her biggest inspirations. “Coco” was the youngest female player to win a Grand Slam qualifying match in the French Open.

Moreover, In the Citi Open women’s doubles competitions, Gauff with her fellow Caty McNally won the tournament with very high performance. Being under 18, she is only allowed to take part in 10 tournaments during the whole season. However, a great future in the tennis world is waiting for this “sensation”!
