Do you like riding a bike? What about a flying bike, would you like to try it? The Jetson One is the world’s first commercially available fully electric flying bike.

The great thing about this vehicle is that it does not require a pilot’s license. Makers Jetson, a Swedish-Polish firm, launched The Jetson One last October. Since then, so popular orders are already being taken for next year.

With a speed of 63mph, that flying bike will make you feel like James Bond when flying in the skies. In 2017, Peter Thernstrom and co-founder Tomasz Patan created Jetson and they soon created a prototype.

Peter said: “The first time I flew it, it felt amazing, it’s vibration-free so nothing like a helicopter or airplane. But we have a vision way beyond the Jetson One. By the end of the decade, we want a four-seater flying car on the market, one that can replace a normal family car.” He added, “We want to make cities a better place to live and mass transport is going to need to change.”

Together, Peter and Tomasz developed backup motors, sensors, and speed restrictors which will make it safer to fly.

Jetson One features

The flying bike does not need a runway to fly, and they have built it to ensure a perfect landing. And you can control it by using a joystick.

According to Peter, the company gets a request to buy The Jetson One every 15 minutes.
“Imagine turning up to McDonald’s in one of these. People will be thinking is that James Bond? Are they even from Earth?” Peter said.

The vehicle weighs 86kg and can fly for 20 minutes on every single charge, which takes around two hours. For now, it’s not allowed for it to fly in cities yet, it is only for open land.
