Flowcopter, a U.K.-based company, is developing the world’s first hydraulic hybrid multicopter. The company wants to revolutionize the heavy-lift drone industry by creating a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle), designed for harsh offshore environments.
The most important advantage of the Flowcopter hydraulic hybrid multicopter is that it doesn’t need a support vessel. However, most electric drones can’t run hundreds of offshore miles without requiring support. According to the company website, Flowcopter designed the UAV to help helicopter operators optimize freight, surveying, and search & rescue operations. In addition to other applications, like deliveries, agriculture, and law enforcement.

By using a patented transmission technology and a new digital displacement pump, the heavy-lift drone is considered to be a stable, reliable, and long-range workhorse.
Moreover, the unbelievable Flowcopter UAV can fly for over six hours, up to 900 km (560 miles). And it only needs a few minutes to refuel.
Flowcopter says that the payload capacity of its heavy-lift drone is 150 kg (330 lb.).
Although there is already a functional prototype of the UAV, the information about when the heavy-lift hybrid drone will be available or how much will it cost is still not clear.
