New controversial statements from the most successful entrepreneur, Elon Musk, on Twitter. Musk said that “Europe should restart dormant nuclear power stations and increase the power output of existing ones.”
That tweet has been retweeted over 38,000 times and got a huge backlash online.
Edge Consulting Group founder, Jim Osman, responded to Musk’s tweet, “Until one is mismanaged again and leaks everywhere. That’s the risk of more.”
However, Musk stuck to his opinion. He even challenged his followers by saying, “For those who (mistakenly) think this is a radiation risk, pick what you think is the worst location. I will travel there & eat locally grown food on TV.” He added, “I did this in Japan many years ago, shortly after Fukushima. Radiation risk is much, much lower than most people believe.”
Musk’s trip to Fukushima n July 2011 is true according to Japan’s Asahi Shimbun media outlet.
In 2021, a UN study on Fukushima residents showed that there are “no adverse health effects” directly related to radiation exposure from the accident.
