Elon Musk’s ultimate goal of colonizing Mars has always been an interesting subject to talk about.
The controversial billionaire is working to make his dreams come true. He is developing Starship rockets to send residents to their new home planet.
The core of the whole idea according to Musk is to “ensure humanity’s long-term survival as a species”.
In case this really happens, people will not only be “multi-planetary but also interstellar”, as Musk said.
The timetable for this mission will start in 2024 or 2026. That is perfect timing when the orbits of Earth and Mars line up. SpaceX will send cargo missions first, to initialize the red planet for visitors.
The SpaceX boss looks forward to completing the Mars colony in 2050.
