Do you know what is the bad thing about being a rich and famous person? Is to be on probation all the time. Using a flight-tracking Twitter bot, a 19-year-old was following Elon Musk‘s movements.
A 19-year-old boy created a Twitter account called @ElonJet, just to track the movements of Elon Musk’s private jet around the world.
“Can you take this down? It is a security risk.” that’s how the billionaire started the conversation with Jack Sweeney over Twitter DM. “Yes I can but it’ll cost you a Model 3 only joking unless?” Sweeney replied.
@ElonJet is not the only flight-tracking account that Sweeney created. There are another 14 accounts run by bots, which are programmed to parse the data and tweet after a chosen plane takes off or lands. Other accounts also follow high-profile people, like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos. But of course, the man of 2021 account is the most popular. It has nearly got 83,000 followers.
Why does the flight-tracking Twitter bot bother Elon Musk?
It seems that Mr. Musk didn’t like that. So he told the tracker “I don’t love the idea of being shot by a nutcase.” And he asked him how much he made off the Twitter accounts. Sweeney answered that it is no more than $20 a month. So Elon Musk offered him $5,000 to delete the account in addition to helping him to keep “crazy people” from tracking his location.

“Any chance to up that to $50k? It would be a great support in college and would possibly allow me to get a car maybe even a Model 3,” Sweeney replied. Tesla CEO said that he would think about it, but till now nothing happened.
Even if Musk didn’t give Sweeney what he asked for, he still got a lot of benefits.
First of all, he’s gained, social media followers. He learned how to code, and got a part-time job as an application developer at UberJets. But the most exciting part is to have a conversation with the man that he’s looked up to for years, Elon Musk.
The message between the two was on Wednesday when Sweeney told Musk that he prefer an internship overpayment in return for deleting the account.
Musk didn’t open the message yet. “I think he’s on vacay in Hawaii if you check ElonJet,” Sweeney said.
What do you think Musk will replay?
