Let’s back to the beginning of the story. Previously, the director of the United Nations’ World Food Programme, David Beasley said that Billionaires need to “step up now, on a one-time basis”. With his words, he cites specifically the world’s two richest men, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.
He added, “$6 billion to help 42 million people that are literally going to die if we don’t reach them. It’s not complicated,”.
Since Musk has a net worth of nearly $289 billion, according to Bloomberg, meaning that 2% of his fortune would be enough to save millions of lives.
However, the billionaire dared the United Nations by a tweet as usual saying: “If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now,”.
Beasley responded to Musk’s tweet said that the $6 billion may not solve world hunger, it “WILL prevent global political instability, mass migration and save 42 million people on the brink of starvation.”

Now, the UN got back to Mr.musk with a good plan. David Beasley, called out Elon Musk, also in a tweet announcing that he have a proposal.
“This hunger crisis is urgent, unprecedented, AND avoidable. @elonmusk, you asked for a clear plan & open books. Here it is!” Beasley said. “We’re ready to talk with you – and anyone else – who is serious about saving lives.”
The world is on fire. I've been warning about the perfect storm brewing due to Covid, conflict, climate shocks & now, rising supply chain costs. IT IS HERE. 45M lives are at stake—and increasing daily. If you don’t feed people, you feed conflict, destabilization & mass migration. pic.twitter.com/VotIZlEAGE

“A one-time appeal to billionaires,” is the title of WFP’s proposal. It shows how the world’s richest people’s billions of donations could be spent to stave off hunger. It’s divided like this: $3.5 billion for food and its delivery and $2 billion for cash and food vouchers, and other expenditures.
After this, Do you think Elon Musk will save his word and give $6 billion to save world hunger?
