A few days ago The, The European Space Agency (ESA) released a video showing the astronauts on the ISS board playing a space badminton match. Astronaut Matthias Maurer challenged his NASA crewmates astronauts Raja Chari, Kayla Barron, and Thomas Marshburn and the Japanese spaceflight visitors Yusaku Maezawa and Yozo Hirano. They all took a part in an exciting, zero-G game.

The billionaire Maezawa and his assistant joined the ISS crew for a short-term journey on the space station.

Even if they were good players, It would be really difficult to play with no gravity. So the players turn to use some metal bars to help them stop floating around and stay in place. This way, they could hit the shuttlecock with their rackets. You can clearly notice that there is something missing in that match, the net.

Since they doing that just for fun, so the rules it doesn’t matter. However, it’s a nice activity to enhance teamwork. Being in zero-G all the time could be annoying, therefore the astronauts try from one time to another to remember their normal life down on Earth.

Like when they made a taco night party when they succeed to have chili peppers crop. And there is once when French astronaut Thomas Pesquet performed a synchronized “swimming” with his crew.

It’s not easy or always fun to be an astronaut, especially if you have to stay a long time away from your family and friends.
